Gentle

My friend KJ challenged her friends to consider this http://myoneword.org/

The word gentle has been jumping out at me as I read the Bible. I realize that it is a character trait that needs attention in my life. I hope to review these verses through out the year.

James 3:17-18 KJV
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Titus 3:1-2 ESV
1 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,
2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.

Colossians 3:12-14 NIV
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

  1. Good job, Phillip!

I do that! My one word. The first year I did wait, the second go..and now I’m doing PACE. Now I just need to find some verses to go along with it. I think I could use the one…
Let us run with patience the race that is set before us…looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

He has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a *SOUND MIND*.

    Love you!
