Mom and Me in the Peloton: Chasing the Multiple Scleroses

My mother is an example of “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Cor13:13, ESV).  She has faith and hope, but most importantly she has love.  Love of the Lord, love of life, love of people, love of fun, and love of adventure.    Multiple Scleroses is a daunting diagnosis, one she has bravely battled MS for over 25 years.  It is love that defines my mother, not MS.

I am fundraising for a cure to MS in honor of my mother’s great love.  She has engendered in me a love for sports and biking, which makes this a natural fundraising activity for me.  I am excited about my first MS ride, and I hope to make this a tradition.

If Connie Summers’ love has touched your life, consider donating to this cause.  To donate online and help my fundraising efforts please click this link.

Peloton is a bike racing word that refers to the group doing the chasing.  “Chasing” is when your opponent is out in front.  Normally the collective effort of the peloton can easily chase down any opponent out in front.  Would you consider joining in on the chase to cure MS by supporting our efforts?  Together we can pedal harder and beat MS to the finish line.

  1. Thank you for this post. I love you. Mom.

  2. This is a very good blog, Phillip. It is a great tribute to Mom. Can I donate directly to you? That would be easiest for me right now.
