Thanks to all of you who “liked” my photo and explanation about bicycle commuting on Facebook. Because of all the “likes” we won the contest for a new bike from Mock Orange Bikes. MOB had the contest as part of the National Bike to Work Week. MOB is a Winston Salem bike shop that is trying to promote bicycle transportation and I was honored to compete in their contest. What a wonderful cause- thanks MOB!
A special thanks to Melissa, my wife, who puts up with all my biking shenanigans year round. It is a joy to bike with her and I could not sustain bicycle commuting without her gracious support. Also, a great big thank you to Katy Altizer, my co-worker, who encouraged me to enter the contest. Katy’s competitive nature was a lot of fun throughout the contest.
A lot of people reposted my story and shared the link generating votes from folks far and wide. I am humbled and grateful for these acts of kindness and support; thank you.
As part of my campaign I promised to give a bike to someone on the Southside who needed transportation. I gave the bike to my good friend Humberto because he has often admired my bike and is currently in need of alternative transportation. Humberto and I volunteer together at the South Side Medical Clinic. I count him a dear friend. I know he will get use and joy out of this beautiful Italian bike.
Thanks everyone. As it says in James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” Please repost this and help spread the word to all who helped us win this BIKE!
Enjoy the pictures!

A nobler recipient couldn’t be found! You’re a dear man, my friend.
